I love running math centers in my classroom and I’m always looking for simple, low-prep activities to throw in a math center to make math workshop run FLAWLESSLY! {Well maybe not FLAWLESSLY because #REALLIFE and because we teach little people who aren’t perfect—but pretty darn close!}
I’m super OCD and a teensy bit TYPE A haha so I like math workshop to be consistent & simple for my students, but I want them to be engaged!
I really like using math sorts and cut & paste matching activities for a few reasons!
#1: They are seriously super low-prep…these are actually NO PREP which is awesome! Just PRINT and PLACE IT in the math station!
#2: My students are always engaged because it’s hands-on!
#3: I can keep it consistent from week to week and have this be the activity for my Independent Work Station as part of my math rotations! *Consistency is the key to a smooth math block*
